In Studio Classes
This is the perfect class for anyone curious about yoga. This hour class is specifically designed to create a comfortable and nurturing learning environment to those that are looking to yoga for the first time. The atmosphere provided is one of comfort and enjoyment as you are guided through the basics of a yoga class; grounding, warm-up, gentle movement, and closing/savasana. There will be instruction and breakdown of basic yoga poses, so this is also a perfect space for more seasoned practitioners to review pose alignment and structure. All are welcome to participate in this space of introduction and learning.
This class focuses on learning the basics of Jiu Jitsu, and students will begin to learn the reality of martial arts in their very first class. There is no punching or kicking, so there is no need to fear getting hit, further more each student will choose their own level of involvement and effort. You can be at any physical level to be able to participate in this class. Through training techniques students will burn fat, increase strength, cardio and flexibility; but also their minds will receive the best workout of all. As in a yoga practice Jiu Jitsu teaches a student to control posture, breathing, and movement on the mat and in life.

This class is a cohesive flow from start to finish that explores movement as art. Students are encouraged to experiment with transitions and cultivate creativity within their practice. This class also focuses on developing the strength needed for more advanced transitions such as pressing and therefore is in the more moderate/vigorous range.
Gentle Vinyasa is the perfect morning practice. This class links movement with breath to provide you with a moving meditation, providing a perfect space for beginners, or those looking for basic movement to help start their day.
Lila Vinyasa Yoga
The sanskrit word lila means divine play. The translation of vinyasa is "to place in a special way". This class emphasizes movement connected to the breath, the union of breath and movement that make up the steps that lead us from one pose to another. In this vinyasa class you will explore movement between shapes while inspired by the concept of Lila, playfulness, curiosity, and the enjoyment of the present moment. Variations on sun salutations will be explored.
Low & Slow Yin
A class of deep stretching and long holds, poses held allowing the muscles to relax and the stretch to move deep into the connective and joints. Restorative poses are added to compliment these deep stretches by calming the nervous system. Offering maximum benefit to the mind and breath in these moments of stillness. All levels. Also great for beginners or anyone curious to try yoga.
Morning Asana, Breath & Meditation
Breath is boss
Rise into your day by cultivating inner and outer strength.
Building skill and intuition through movement, stillness and focus on breath. This class is a slow and steady flow built for all levels and intended to get your internal fire stoked and bright for the rest of your day.
Whether you’re heading into the mountains or into work, this class will help you start your day off right with lots of sun salutations and even more stretching. All levels welcome.
Restorative Yoga & Reiki
This class offers deep relaxation, meditation and renewal of the body’s energy. It consists of passive poses that focus on the breath to release unnecessary tension in the body and mind. This gentle class involves the use of props to enter a deeper relaxation and rejuvenation. This yoga relaxing yoga practice is then enhanced by the therapeutic and calming touch of Reiki by Reiki Master, Gina DuMond. Appropriate for all levels.
Simply put, round robin is about 'taking turns.' Every Saturday one of our teachers or guest teachers will take a turn to facilitate the class. That means you may experience a vinyasa flow, a yin practice, restorative poses, or some other surprise. This is a practice in being present, open, and curious to the experience.
This class will draw upon poses from the Ashtanga series among other sources. It will include a warm up, some sun salutations, and standing and sitting asanas. There will be finishing poses as well as shavasana. Ashtanga is a practice with a long history and the basis for many other yoga styles. Modifications be given as needed. There will be an emphasis on proper alignment and individualized teaching. All levels are welcome for this fun, yet challenging class.
Vinyasa Level 2
Vinyasa Level 2 classes provide a comfortable and fun setting for a challenging and invigorating yoga practice. With its roots in the ashtanga primary series, the Vinyasa class invites students to unite their bodies, minds, and hearts through asana (poses), pranayama (breath), pratyahara (removal of the senses), and other aspects of the eight limb practice. Come work your deepest muscles to stretch, twist, and strengthen yourself without limit. The class is designed to challenge all levels of practitioners, with pose modifications provided. The goal of every class is for students to leave feeling strong, peaceful, and refreshed.
Yoga for a Monday Morning
Wherther you need some recovery time from your weekend warrior activities or just want to ease your way into your week, you will find comfort in this gentle, laid back class. Moving through traditional postures and flow, you can reset and reconnect with this grounding, centering practice.
Off-Site Class Offerings
Chair Yoga - Saranac Village at Will Rogers
This yoga class is suitable for individuals with limited mobility or for folks who don't want to get down on the floor. most of the class is seated but we do stand for part of it with the support of a chair. Emphasis is on breathing and stretching, joint mobility and gentle strengthening. Class takes place every Tuesday.
Yoga on the Deck - Paul Smith's College VIC
(June 25 - September 5)
An outdoor yoga class adds a different dimension to one's practice. Union with nature, humanity and the universe is truly felt, intensifying the experience. Participate in Sun Salutations while actually reaching for the sun. Enjoy a stunning playlist courtesy of the birds and the breeze. Feel rooted while holding tree pose in the forest. Classes will begin Tuesday, June 25 and conclude on Thursday, September 5. Yoga on the Deck takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00-10:15am, rain or shine, as there is alternative practice space inside. No advanced notice required, simply drop-in and practice. Classes can be paid for by cash, check, credit card, or with an existing class pass through the studio. This series is led by Jackie Foster and she can be reached at email@example.com.
Our Classes and The Atmosphere
All classes are mixed levels unless otherwise stated. Beginners are welcome in any class. We aim to provide an environment that is welcoming to students of all levels. Please know that props, mats, blocks, bolsters and blankets are available free of charge to any attendee for all of our classes.
